Responsibilities

The Technology Delivery Manager role is responsible for:

  • Managing, coordinating, and ensuring collaboration on technology development within a team and across needed teams for the Business increment
  • Ensuring the Business is driving (managing scope, prioritizing work, allowing improvements)
  • Coordinating with the Business on collaboration and responsibilities including involvement cycles (frequency)
  • Interacting with the Business to assure the right work is being done at the right time to achieve the Business Value objective; this includes: prioritization, sequencing, decomposition, addressing impediments and cross-impacts
  • Assuring work is ready to be pulled by the team with the available capacity of the team.
  • Managing iterative system evolution within technology boundaries
  • Identifying risks, issues, dependencies for the Business Increment
  • Matching skills and resources required to produce the Business increment
  • Tracking and providing status of the Business Increment (except for status on value realization)
  • Implementing and maintaining application area artifacts that support needs such as scheduling, risk, roles, resource estimation, procurement, communication, change management, and issue management
  • Coordinating application area activities, setting priorities, resolving organizational impediments, monitoring and reporting
  • Provide guidance and maintain alignment with IT policies and standards
  • Ensuring that environments and teams are adequately scoped, planned and established
  • Understanding the limitations that are due to technology (such as an old IDE) and what we are going to do about those limitations, and what the inherent risks are
  • Supporting and guiding the team(s) in continually (incrementally) improving their standards, while they deliver.
  • Understanding the technical boundaries between internal and external components that are present
  • Removing tactical impediments and driving the resolution of issues while ensuring continued focus on the Business Increment, within teams and across teams
  • Reviewing status of maturity assessments and planning maturity development
