Accountability Which involves…
Prior to release Identify risks / issues / dependencies for the work approved (project and business case).

Identify all skills necessary to accomplish work and establish roster.

Coordinate with Business on collaboration and responsibilities including involvement cycles.

Coordinate project initiation and accounting process.

Staging Coach the Business in creation of product backlog: capabilities / Business features.

Identify key milestones or coordination points with other projects and/or teams.

Establish SLAs (based on team’s sizing and classes of service), release targets, and order of work based on combined Business and technical priorities and dependencies.

Establish project top-line (based on team’s sizing), Release targets, and order of work (approach) based on combined Business and technical priorities and dependencies.

Ensure the team is ready to start work.

Every release If necessary, adjust team composition to maximize possible throughput of the team.

Work with Product Manager to identify MBIs and potential features for each release.

Working with the ADM, identify enabling stories necessary for successful release and represent them to ensure the Product Manager prioritizes them appropriately.

Maintain a holistic view of the deliverable and validating that all necessary components, technical and non-technical are in place (using the ADM as a key stakeholder/resource):

  • Operational readiness
  • Infrastructure readiness
  • Performance considerations
  • Production support considerations
  • Implementation / deployment considerations

Review status of maturity assessment.

Every iteration Work with the Product Owner(s) to ensure proper priorities are identified.

Work with the ADM to improve team Lean-Agile maturity:

  • Drive adoption of advanced people, process, and technology practices to increase team productivity
  • Drive team to improve how they do their work
  • For large projects, coordinate sharing of findings from retrospections
  • Ensure information dashboards are updated and visible
  • Ensure retrospectives identify improvements, the team is adding stories for improvement, and the Product Owner is giving appropriate priority to improvements
Weekly Encourage team to deliver highest Business value first.

Work with the Team Agility Coach to maximize team velocity.

Identify and remove issues that reduce team velocity.

Encourage role-sharing, training, and other techniques that will promote greater velocity in the long-term.

Plan and monitor the product backlog.

Work with the Product Owner and Team Agility Coach to maintain backlog.

Identify dependencies and risks for capabilities, features, and stories.

Exhibit and coach Lean principles to team, Product Owner, and Team Agility Coach.

Daily Read the information visibility boards for signs of problems with the iteration for signs of failing agility.

Frequently observe the Daily Stand-up meeting.

Remove impediments. Work to remove the impediments identified by the team.

Provide Team Agility Coach with status of impediments reported by the team.

Represent project and team to outside parties.

Protect the team from distractions and outside influences, including loaner requests, multiple projects, and production support (where possible).

Periodically Help conduct maturity assessments and develop plans for maturity development.
